It may seem early, but to avoid stress, now is the time to place your order for the competition season. There are five team wear essentials that you need for the competition season. Do you have all five? We will also be reviewing Limelight’s ordering process and explain why now is the time to order for the upcoming season.

5 Things You Need for Competition

Are you competition ready? We believe that when you look like a team, you feel like a team. To have a head-turning competition look, here are the five pieces that will have all eyes on you. 

Team Jacket

Having a team jacket is the most important piece of your competition look. If you’re a new club or studio and are looking to start small with your team wear, we’d highly recommend at least having custom jackets for your students. We have many different styles of jackets to choose from depending on the needs of your team. If you have an all-girl team, the Evolution Signature Jacket is a super popular choice. If you have a co-ed team or students that would prefer a looser fitting jacket, take a look at our bomber and varsity jackets. 

Team Pants

Whether your team would prefer leggings, joggers, or sweat pants, a custom-designed team bottom adds depth to your team look. Once your team jackets are designed, it’s simple to work with your Teamwear Specialist to have a coordinating pant or legging design created for your team with no minimums on our Evolution and Onyx Collections, you’re even able to offer multiple bottom options to your team and have your students decide which bottoms they prefer while keeping your team in a unison look. 

Team Top

Add to your team ensemble and customize a top! We have plenty of options for all genders that can pull together your team’s look. Whether you’re looking for a loose top that’s easy to throw over costumes or leotards, or something tighter for events, photoshoots and more, we know you’ll be able to find what you’re looking for with Limelight! Customized tops are great options for events and competitions during warmer seasons as your students can easily throw it on over what they’re wearing and not get overheated. 

Team Bag

There’s always a lot to bring to competition whether you’re a dancer or a gymnast; that’s why you need the right

 to carry all of your competition essentials. We have two great bag options for you to choose from and as always, they’re custom-designed to coordinate with the rest of your team’s look. Our Custom Backpack boasts ample space so your students can keep their competition necessities with them at all times while representing your team. Our Custom Duffle Bag is a great option if you prefer to carry your bag. We have the option of our regular Duffle Bag and our Premium Duffle Bag which comes with a long strap. Have your students add their name to their bag so they never get mixed up! 

Team Accessories

Complete your look with a custom-designed accessory! Whether you want the head to toe look with Custom Team Slides, or want something small like a Custom Scrunchie, there are many choices to choose from. Accessories allow your students to express their team spirit anywhere they are; whether they’re at school, hanging out with friends, or running errands on weekends, they can always take their custom accessories with them. 

If you’re not fully equipped with all the essentials for competition season, now is the time to start designs for the pieces you don’t have in your team’s wardrobe. Let’s dive into the design process to give you a better idea of why starting early is necessary. 

Ordering Process

If you’re new to Limelight, there’s a few steps that need to be taken before you’re able to place your team’s order. First, we have a one-time design fee of $100 for our jackets. If you don’t want a team jacket, we have a $30 design fee for other smaller garments. When purchasing the design fee, you’ll choose a color and upload your logo as well. Once this is complete, the fun begins! You will be assigned a Teamwear Specialist who will then begin the design process with you. After answering a short questionnaire, you will be sent a couple design options within a few days. From there, you work with your Teamwear Specialist to tweak your design to your liking. 

With your design complete, you can then work with your Teamwear Specialist to design other pieces you may want to add to your team look. The design process can take anywhere from 1-3 weeks depending on the number of revisions that you have to your design. Once all designs are finalized, they will be uploaded into your account and will be ready whenever you’d like to place your order. 

When you’re ready, you can login to your account and add your garments to your cart, approve the proofs and place your order. From the time of ordering, production time is 6-8 weeks and much closer to 8 weeks during high volume times approximately between September to March.
