You may be thinking that it’s too early to design your look for next season, but it is the best time to get your designs set, so they are ready and waiting for you whenever you proceed with placing your order. Let’s take a look at the design process.
Limelight has a production time of 6-8 weeks from the time your order is placed to your order arriving on your doorstep. This is because all of our garments are completely customized; therefore, your custom design has to be cut, printed, sewn, checked, and shipped after an order is placed. No stock items are sitting on shelves pre-made and waiting to have a logo embroidered.
First things first, your design. You will work one-on-one with a Limelight Teamwear Specialist to create your ideal team wear design. Once they’ve gathered some information as to the design ideas you have, they will then have mockups created and sent to you. As our designs are custom, you will work together to fine-tune your design to your exact liking. Don’t have any ideas that come to mind? Get your students involved! This is the perfect time to ask your competitive students their input on your current design and what could be changed for the new season. This helps them feel even more united when they’re wearing team wear that they had a part in creating! Still stuck for ideas? Not a problem. Our in-house design team will get creative and create something awesome based on your logo and branding that can be used as a jumping-off point.
If you’d like to slowly start planning your new design, we have some suggestions on where to get some inspiration. You can visit our Instagram for ideas based on other client designs we’ve completed in the past. While you cannot copy a design, it’s a great place to grab inspiration as you can take elements from different designs that you love to create your ideal design. Pinterest is another great source of inspiration to find elements of other designs that you love. You also can look at your branding for inspiration. Look at elements in your logo or consider your colors. We can always add pieces of your logo directly into your design to create a truly custom look. We have also had several clients use unique elements found inside their physical locations as inspiration, such as wallpaper designs, murals and accent walls.
When your design is done, it puts you ahead of the game when it comes time to place your order! The designing phase can be somewhat time-consuming depending on the clarity of your vision and the number of revisions required to get it just right. It’s best to use your downtime over the summer to create a design with our team so that it’s one less thing to think about come fall registration and fall training.
Once we have a final design that you love, you can place your order any time. Our new website makes ordering easier than ever before. Shop the products that you’ve created designs for, select your quantities and sizes and place them in your cart. If you have multiple designs of one garment, you’re able to select which design you’d like to order. Having your designs done in advance saves you time when you go to place your order. If you complete your designs now, you don’t have to worry when it comes time to order. Simply log in to your account, select your design and order!
