When rehearsals ramp up and inboxes flood, you don’t need order spreadsheets—you need a controlled storefront parents can use without hand-holding. Limelight’s Team Shop model lets you curate products, keep brand control, and consolidate delivery—all while generating kickbacks to offset team costs.
Quick answer (skim this):
- Start design work 2–3 weeks before opening a shop.
- Studio Owner requests the shop (designs approved + terms accepted).
- Short 1–2 week shop window → production begins after close.
- Delivery: 6–8 weeks standard; 8–10 weeks in fall/winter peak (we aim for 6–8 but volume can extend timelines).
- Parents pay $5 + applicable taxes for shipping per order; orders ship consolidated to the team.
- Kickback = fixed $ difference between Team Shop price and Team Bulk price (extra margin at 7+ Evolution, Onyx and Accessory units). All sales are final.
How Limelight Team Shops Actually Work (Start to Finish)
1) Start in Design (2–3 Weeks Before Your Open Date)
Your shop should never be the first step. Begin with design:
- Work with Limelight’s design team to finalize your approved mockups for every item you plan to sell.
- Pre-book Sizer Sets during this phase so you can host a quick fitting day before the shop opens (best practice to eliminate size guesswork).
Teacher tip: If you’re opening multiple times this season (team warm-ups now, accessories later), approve all designs up front so each opening is plug-and-play.
2) Request the Shop (Owner-Led)
The Studio Owner submits the Team Shop Request form (this is where you agree to the terms):
- Final sale on custom items
- Consolidated delivery (no exceptions)
- Items with minimums still get produced if the minimum isn’t met, but no kickback is paid on that item
Build timing: Once the completed request is in, Limelight can open your shop within 2 days (or on your requested launch date).
3) Curate the Product Mix (Every Opening)
All Limelight products are eligible, and you choose what appears each time:
- Required set (recommended): team jacket + one bottom (leggings, joggers, or warm-up pants)
- Optional add-ons for revenue: backpack/duffle, slides, crossbody, headband/scrunchie, make-up bag, training apparel
- Boys’ essentials: tank tops; performance shorts/joggers
Pricing is set by Limelight. Your kickback is the fixed difference between the Team Bulk price and Team Shop price. For Evolution, Onyx and most Accessory items, selling 7+ units unlocks an additional price break (= more kickback).
Note on minimums: If a product in your shop has a minimum and the team doesn’t reach it, Limelight will still produce it—but there’s no kickback on that item.
4) Set a Short Open Window (1–2 Weeks)
A tight window gets families to act and shortens the path to delivery:
- Recommended shop length: 7–14 days
- Production starts after your shop closes
Delivery expectations to post Day One:
- Standard: 6–8 weeks from shop close
- Peak season (fall/winter): 8–10 weeks from shop close (we still aim for 6–8, but set parent expectations to 8–10)
No blackout dates—open/close whenever suits your calendar.
5) Make Sizing Easy (Sizer Sets or Charts)
Best practice: Rent Sizer Sets via the website and run a quick fitting day before you open.
- Stations: check-in (name stickers), try-on (jackets, leggings/joggers, bras/tanks, boys’ tops/shorts).
- If not renting, point parents to size charts on limelightteamwear.com (female and male chart included)
6) What Parents See (and Agree To)
Limelight’s shop experience is parent-proof:

- Checkout pop-up confirms: all orders are final and changes cannot be made after placing an order
- Payment: credit card
- Shipping: $5 + applicable taxes per order, always consolidated to the team
- No duties or tariffs for Canada or the USA

Log into your Limelight account → Team Shop page → scroll to the admin panel at the bottom of the page:
- View all order details in real time (studio view shows Complete orders)
- Filter by date/range
- Download a printable distribution list and packing info for handout day
- All orders ship consolidated to the team for smooth distribution.
10) Reopen Any Time (Each = a New Shop)
Reopenings are always free and treated as new shops (kickbacks and shipping are not grouped with past cycles).
Timelines remain 6–8 weeks standard or 8–10 weeks in peak.
